Nominations are now CLOSED and we now know who is running in the 2010 Union Elections! We have had unprecedented interest in our elections this year, with a total of 38 confirmed candidates contesting 13 positions.
The next stage is possibly the most important part of the elections process. Make sure you vote for the right candidate to represent your needs during the voting period between Monday 15th – Thursday 18th March. You can vote on any of our satellite campuses at various times and locations. Postal voting is also available for students who won’t be available to vote at ballot stations. But hurry, the deadline for requests is Monday 8th March.
Candidates Question Time
In the next few weeks, candidates running in the SU elections will be campaigning across campuses for your vote. When you see them, ask them what they’re going to do for you, the students.
You can also come along to our Candidates Question Time event on Thursday 11th March at 6pm in the Students’ Union, MD Building, City Campus and put forward tough questions directly to the candidates, on issues that will affect you and your fellow students. There will also be Domino’s Pizza, refreshments and games to look forward to on the night. Questions can be submitted via e-mail, text message or in person on the night of the event.
Remember the power of the student voice lies with YOU, don’t waste it - come along to our event and see democracy in action.
Count and Results Party
Students and candidates are welcome to observe the count taking place on Friday 19th March from 10am in The Lounge, SU, City Campus. The results of this year’s Union elections will later be announced in the SU on City Campus from 8pm.
