Tuition Fees
Existing Students – who started before 2006
The maximum contribution you will be asked to make towards tuition fees in 2009/2010 is £1,285. The amount you are expected to contribute will depend upon income (your own, parents' or spouse's according to status).
Your Local Authority is responsible for making the tuition fees assessment.
There is a new non means-tested Tuition Fee Loan for all eligible full-time students to cover their contribution.
You will need to check your eligibility for this loan with your Local Authority.
Students might be entitled to the Higher Education Grant. This is a non-repayable grant of up to £1,000 depending upon the income of your family. You will not be entitled to this if you have studied previously and received student support.
New and Existing Students – who started 2006 onwards
Universities and Colleges of Higher Education will be charging a full-time undergraduate fee of up to £3,225 per year in 2009. A non means-tested Tuition Fee Loan will be available to all eligible, full-time students to cover their tuition fees.
You will need to check your eligibility for this loan with your Local Authority. New students in 2009 will need to check eligibility with the Student Loans Company (SLC).
