Academic Misconduct

Academic misconduct can be in the form of plagiarism, collusion or cheating. Use the links on the left of this page to find out more
The University takes any form of academic misconduct very seriously. Where an offence is admitted, or a panel decides an offence has occurred, a penalty will be imposed.
The severity of the penalty will vary according to the nature of the offence, the level of assessment and whether you have previously been found guilty of academic misconduct.
Make sure you understand what academic misconduct means and how it can be avoided. It is your responsibility to do this: ignorance of the rules is no defence.
The Students' Union offers support to students who have been asked to attend academic misconduct hearings.
