Our Mission
As you are all aware, the Students’ Union has gone through change over the summer. We now have reinvented our core services to provide the best Student Experience for all our students.
Below are some of our main aims over the coming years……
We aim to:
• Represent and arrange for the representation of our members within the University locally and within the education system as a whole nationally.
• Promote and enhance student democratic processes, targeting in particular diverse students, for example, postgraduates, ethnic minority, part-time, international and disabled.
• Promote and maintain the educational, social and general interests of our members.
• Promote the interests of our members in those economic and social issues which affect education or which otherwise affect our members as students.
• Promote and maintain cooperation with other students and discuss and act upon any issues which affect the educational or social rights of such other students.
• Arrange for the provision of recreational, social, athletic, cultural and intellectual activities for our members.
• Work in partnership with community initiatives to further the development opportunities of our members and diversify our funding base.
• Pursue our aims and objectives without regard to sex, age, race, religion, creed, colour, sexual orientation, or disability and independently of any political party or religious body. The conduct of the Union shall at all times be consistent with the University’s policy on equality of opportunity.
